Dear CMSA-KC,

As a health care provider it is hard to read this story. As a proud girl who jokes about being from the original J O ( Joplin) it is impossible to read without a very strange mix of emotions. I know a few people listed in this story- and I am amazed at the stories of bravery and the teamwork used by the St. John's staff to take care of people. I should hope that all of us would do as well under the circumstances.

The recovery goes on for my family, my mother's home, cars, possessions are a heap of rubble and trash. Yet we celebrated each small victory that was saved, my grandmother's china and silver. A pottery pitcher that was my great grandmother's. The silly things-my mother's favorite ballet picture of me at age 6 in a hot pink tutu, the pilgrim figurine my brother painted in kindergarten. But each day brings an odd loss- realizing both homes she brought her children home for the hospital are gone, her first job site, grade school. You never realize how those matter until they are all gone. A very surreal feeling she says.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart friends for your kind words of support and donation towards my family's recovery. It is a blessing in my life to have each of you.
